Backtagging: Check with me if it's more than a week--only because I don't want to hurt feelings if there's one I can't get to!
Threadhopping: DO THE THING!
Fourthwalling: If Markiplier is a thing in your world? Go for it. Rocky will think he's a doof and that he is the superior King of FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S.
Offensive subjects: To the mun? Very few, I will get in touch if there's something I can't deal with. If you're unsure, feel free to ask. To the muse? Disregard for children, family disloyalty, trying to tell him that THE IMPOSSIBLE QUIZ or VANISH are easy.
IC
Hugging this character: ALWAYS! He's super tactile.
Kissing this character: Sure! He'll be super awkward about it but he's a derp.
Flirting with this character: Oh yes. Prepare for incredibly awkward flirting back unless you can talk video games with him.
Fighting with this character: Discuss first. Even nerfed, Rocky has had hand to hand training, so let's choreograph a badass fight! :P
Injuring this character: Sure!
Killing this character: Ask first, but I'm not totally opposed!
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Ask first, only because Rocky has a twin soul. It might not be HIS mind your muse is reading.
Anything else: Rocky's beast manifests as a twin soul: human and animal in one body. As such, he sometimes isn't the one driving when he's acting out, so fair warning. In addition, if your muse has bonded with Rocky as a pack mate? Rocky has the ability to project physical contact across distances (i.e., you can feel him holding your hand or hugging you if he's nowhere near you.) If this is ever something you want to avoid, let me know and I will absolutely write around it!
Warnings: Due to the nature of Rocky's twin soul, when the wolf's personality takes over Rocky blacks out. This MIGHT lend dubcon elements to some of his initial sexual encounters. Please let me know if this is triggering or problematic for you, and I will ABSOLUTELY write around it for your benefit.

NAME: Rock "Rocky" Devereaux
CANON: Original Character
CANON POINT: N/A
AGE: 28
HISTORY: For Rocky, the story of Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf has personal significance: to him, they're not a myth. To Rocky, they are simply Aunt Cyne and Uncle Elan.
Born and raised in Boulder City, Nevada, Rocky is the son of Richard Pang-Devereaux and Emetilde Devereaux, alphas of the Devereaux pack. Rocky's mother is an indirect descendant of Cyne Dubois-Lacroix, and can trace her lineage back to one of Cyne's nieces, who sought out the ancient werewolf packs and accepted the bite several generations after Cyne's time. At present, the Devereaux pack holds a good amount of political stroke in the supernatural community, being the most closely bound to the First Wolves by blood and by power, with their animal lineage being the least diluted.
Rocky grew up comfortably with his younger sister, Rachel, displaying early signs of Alpha behavior. As the firstborn of the pack Alpha, this was expected, and a lot more...so much so that, when Rocky was only fourteen, he became the pack's Beta, a title given to the pack enforcer, and next in line to rule. The weight of this responsibility isn't something Rocky wears well, but the more violent, aggressive duties of pack enforcer are responsibilities he's frighteningly good at, and does not shy away from.
Raised in the supernatural enclave of the suburban Boulder City community, Rocky developed a mainstream fascination with gaming as a young man, and early on as he was contemplating college started a YouTube channel for his own “Let's Play” videos under the name LetsBane (a subtle nod to his nature, as in 'wolfsbane.'). Naturally gifted in the art of graphic design and the use of Photoshop, Rocky let his mainstream audience think he used special effects to enhance his “rage game” reactions when he would change form any time he lost control. The supernatural community, however, knew the difference and embraced his videos as a slice of life pastime for a community that otherwise had no public face.
Rocky's viewership swiftly grew, so much so that he dropped out of his early college classes and made his living recording, as well as doing a little freelance graphic work for the local community as his channel gained more exposure. His fan base, with whom he's deeply involved, grew so large and so loyal that they went so far as to launch a fundraising campaign in secret to present him with fully paid enrollment in a specialized school devoted to video game development and design.
Just about eight months before he was scheduled to move to Orlando to start school, a rash of murders in his area had him investigating a new enemy rising against his pack, and posing a threat, specifically, to both his little sister, Rachel, and his mother, as well as himself. After putting down the threat, it came out that Rocky was not merely an Alpha, but the first to be born in nearly two hundred years. His father, a Beta wolf ruling as pack Alpha, promptly stepped down to hand the title, and leadership of the pack, over to Rocky.
PAST GAME MEMORIES: N/A
PERSONALITY: Rocky is best described as an unhappy extrovert that can't seem to get out of his own way. Outspoken, honest, and a little ill at ease in “the real world,” Rocky functions best within his own community, but finds the most joy and peace within the human mainstream. Running his YouTube channel, he shines as he juggles a busy work schedule, interacting with his fans, and finding ways to market himself as a personality without drawing undue attention to the shadowy aspects of his personal life. Yet, through it all, Rocky is very prone to oversharing, personal awkwardness, and speaking without thinking. While this quality serves him well in his videos, producing a semi-nonsensical stream of consciousness commentary his fans find endearing, in the real world his lack of a filter can often get him into trouble. Granted, it's often with the best of intentions, be he defending a friend or trying to compliment someone, but ultimately it ends with many an awkward moment for those not used to his open nature and quirky sense of humor.
Beneath this all beats the heart of a born werewolf, a creature with deadly hungers and a gift for violence. As Beta to his pack, he is tasked with performing the unspeakable duties an Alpha cannot, and as such Rocky is very comfortable with aggression and acts of horrific violence. This not only comes out of a sense of duty to his people, but a genuine loyalty to those he considers family: the pack as a whole. One such example involved a boy named Chad who cheated on Rocky's younger sister in high school. The boy was later injured in a carjacking gone wrong, the extent so severe he was in a coma for a week, and in the hospital for two months.
...it was no carjacking.
Outside of his responsibilities, Rocky is not a violent man. He takes advantage of his YouTube channel to rally his fans as forces for change in their communities, runs regular charity events benefiting groups his fans hand pick, and in lieu of profiting from occasional paid endorsements, donates his earnings from such endeavors to charity. He is fiercely devoted to his friends and family, speaks glowingly of his baby sister to anyone that will listen, and very affectionate in a tactile manner: rarely can a soul escape him without a bear hug. The things he does as pack Beta, he does with a grim sort of resignation, and the willingness of a man dedicated to his job. His sensitivity to dealing with pack affairs that have a personal touch, however, has earned him the nickname back home of Red Eye.
Because when Rock Devereaux is so angered to the point he sees red, the cause is always blood.
POWERS/ABILITIES: Rocky is a werewolf with witches in his ancestry, an alpha among his own kind. As a descendant of the first generation of werewolves, Rocky has some abilities wolves in his world normally don't: he can assume a fully animal form, and he can partially shift portions of his body (example: his hands can assume the form of a wolf's paw with elongated fingers and claws, minus the fur; his skull can shift and distort to give his jaw and nose a more elongated, canine appearance while maintaining human features). His strength, speed, senses, and reflexes are also enhanced, and his animal nature plays a big part in his daily life. Rocky is very tactile, and often engages in wolf behaviors hidden in human gestures, such as scent marking.
Unbeknownst to Rocky, he is the first full blooded alpha born to his pack in nearly two hundred years. In decades prior, Alphas in title have merely been the most aggressive betas in a pack. Rocky is different in that he can command the minor magic that is inherent to his breed of wolf: when he bonds with a packmate, Rocky can project the phantom of his touch to others as a means of offering emotional comfort and companionship, and if his packmates are also wolves, Rocky can use this bond to share his life force with them, allowing them to heal wounds while he assumes the fallout of the same (example: if he shares his energy with a wolf that's been shot, he will bleed internally, if the wolf has been poisoned, Rocky will become sick). Physical contact with his packmates can aid Rocky in pulling through these adverse effects of his power.
Rocky is also cursed with a twin soul, as a born alpha: his animal spirit is sentient in its own right. While he doesn't suffer from blackouts, the beast can often assert control on its own, leaving Rocky helpless but to watch his own body betray him. However, Rocky is learning to communicate with this other half to prevent the violent outbursts that have become a brand new problem.
POWER RESTRICTION: Upon entry into the game, Rocky will be stripped completely of all his abilities save for his "magic" and his twin soul. This will leave him bog standard human save for his ability to bond with others as pack mates. His magic will only work insofar as to be able to project phantom touch. The twin soul creates a second, less dominant personality that is purely animal in nature--simplistic, primitive, and driven by baser urges. It is an NPC in its complexity, and its presence really just serves to compel Rocky to have a lot of sex. :P
SAMPLES: Prose - Rocky avenges a "pack mate."
Action Spam - Rocky does a livestream.
ANYTHING ELSE? Not that I can think of at the moment! :P OH! The presence of a second consciousness in Rocky's head does cause blackouts when it takes over. That might add some dubcon elements to his threads, but such elements will always be discussed with players before being incorporated. :P

World Description: Rocky's world is no different than our own, with one notable exception: the supernatural is real, and exists as a world beneath the world. Hidden in plain sight, existing in shadow and story, they're everywhere. Since the dawn of time, they have existed—we need look no further than the fairy tales most every child is raised on to find proof of that.
Such as the witch who became known as Little Red Riding Hood, and the Big Bad Wolf, one of the first werewolves, who didn't swallow her whole, but rather bit her and made her his bride.
Ancient and powerful supernatural archetypes have given birth to the creatures that now live among us in their own neighborhoods and enclaves, who carve out their own internet presence safe from prying human eyes, who attend our schools and shop at our stores.
Much of what we know about them has been lost to legend...but at the end of the day, they're not so different from us. Most are good people, law abiding citizens, simple folk just looking to live their lives...and some aren't.
And they are the reason we've learned to fear them: for their kind, one bad seed won't spoil the crop...it'll scorch the earth.

This form of healing allows for the healing of wounds while he accepts the fallout of the same (example: if he shares his energy with a packmate that's been shot, he will bleed internally, if they have been poisoned, Rocky will become sick). While Rocky also possesses accelerated healing as a werewolf, that enhanced recovery does not apply to the ramifications of healing members of his pack. Alone, he will recover as an exceptionally healthy human might, but physical contact with his packmates can aid Rocky in pulling through these adverse effects of his power more rapidly.
Rocky is also cursed with a twin soul, as a born alpha: his animal spirit is sentient in its own right. Naturally gifted in the art of graphic design and the use of Photoshop, Rocky let his mainstream audience think he used special effects to enhance his “rage game” reactions when he would change form any time he lost control. The supernatural community, however, knew the difference and embraced his videos not as a gimmick, but as socially acceptable representation: a slice of life pastime for a community that had no public face.
Rocky's viewership swiftly grew, so much so that he dropped out of his early college classes and made his living recording, as well as doing a little freelance graphic work for the local community as his channel gained more exposure. Roughly a year ago, Rocky's fanbase, with whom he's deeply involved, went so far as to launch a secret fundraising campaign, and on his birthday presented him with fully paid enrollment in a video game design educational program to study his passion in a professional capacity.
It is through this devoted online community that Rocky has amassed that he recently came to learn about a string of werewolf murders that have sinister undertones. It is during the early part of his investigation into this troubling mystery that he will flux into New Dodge.
Does your character have any close ties to existing canon characters? N/A
Why do you think your character would work in this setting? Rocky is best described as an unhappy extrovert: he makes friends easily and he's fairly outgoing, but he just can't quite seem to get out of his own way with his predisposition for babbling and his lack of an inner filter. He will find his place in the community quickly, if not as a public personality in some form of entertainment, then as a staple in some service job (possibly a fixture at the local video game store). Contrary to how many werewolves are seen, as an alpha by nature, his first instinct is to serve others for the betterment of the community. Until he can get home, this will be what he falls back on.
How do you plan to expand their CR? Out of necessity, he will look for others to connect with, and attempt to join the local werewolf pack--without forging the kind of interpersonal connections that bring his kind power and well being, he could potentially pine to death without a pack to call his own.
What will your character do for work? As mentioned, he'll likely try to get a job in video games, such as working at NexGen 2.0. Otherwise, he'll figure out a way to monetize himself as an entertainer of some kind. Give him time--and a crayon.
Inventory: A pair of black pajama pants sporting a print of his logo (an 8-bit letter B done in white, laying on its back, with an 8-bit purple blossom growing between the rounded bumps of the letter), and a pair of prescription glasses he wears due to a childhood injury involving wolfsbane.

Character name: Rock “Rocky” Devereaux

rockysmash
Canon: Original Character
Age: 28

Original Character Information
Appearance: Rocky is half Korean, and displays some of his heredity around his eyes. He has a lightly tanned complexion, and while by no means chiseled (except for his arms, he's been working on the guns, baby!), he has a muscular physique and stands just shy of six feet tall. His hair is primarily worn trimmed short at the sides, and exceptionally long on top, where it's usually dyed any number of shocking colors (his favorites tend to be bright red, varying shades of blue, and after a charity event he hosted on his YouTube channel, bubblegum pink).
Setting: Rocky's world is no different than our own, with one notable exception: the supernatural is real, and exists as a world beneath the world. Hidden in plain sight, existing in shadow and story, they're everywhere. Since the dawn of time, they have existed—we need look no further than the fairy tales most every child is raised on to find proof of that. One such tale is the story of the witch who became known as Little Red Riding Hood, and the Big Bad Wolf, one of the first werewolves, who came not to swallow her whole, but to gift her with his bite and make her his bride.
Ancient and powerful supernatural archetypes such as Red and her Wolf have given birth to the creatures that now live among us in their own neighborhoods and enclaves, who carve out their own internet presence safe from prying human eyes, who attend our schools and shop at our stores.
History: For Rocky, the story of Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf has personal significance: to him, they're not a myth. To Rocky, they are simply Aunt Cyne and Uncle Elan.
Born and raised in Boulder City, Nevada, Rocky is the son of Richard Pang-Devereaux and Camille Devereaux, alphas of the Devereaux pack. Rocky's mother is an indirect descendant of Cyne Dubois-Lacroix, and can trace her lineage back to one of Cyne's nieces, who sought out the ancient werewolf packs and accepted the bite several generations after Cyne's time. At present, the Devereaux pack holds a good amount of power in the supernatural community, being the most closely bound to the First Wolves by blood and by power, with their animal lineage being the least diluted.
Powers/Abilities/Talents: Rocky is a werewolf with witches in his ancestry, an alpha among his own kind.
While he doesn't suffer from blackouts, the beast can often assert control on its own, leaving Rocky helpless but to watch his own body betray hime. However, Rocky is learning to communicate with this other half to prevent the violent outbursts that have become a brand new problem.
Outside of his power as a wolf, Rocky's a gifted illustrator and proficient in photo editing, as well as video editing. He also holds a record in his completion of the entire Five Nights At Freddy's video game franchise.

come in, little small voice, over...
May. 25th, 2017 05:46 pmHe knows he's different from the rest of the others. It's just something in his gut, but he's pretty sure none of the rest have The Voice, helping them along.
He doesn't remember much anymore. He's pretty sure that his name started with an R, but that's it. It's the sound that The Voice makes a lot.
Rrrrrrr...no, it starts with another letter...
Grrrrrrrr.
There's no G in his name, though. He's fairly certain of that much.
Life is pretty simple for R, and he likes it that way. He lives in the mall, the Gamestop. He doesn't know why, but it's just his, and nobody else questions it. Or him. He doesn't know what it is about the place, but...it's just home to him. He stares at the brightly colored game boxes and the systems, and he feels safe.
The Voice says it's home, too. So it's his home.
The Voice tells him to do a lot of things, and he finds that he runs into less trouble if he obeys it. When it's time to eat, The Voice tells him to. When there's danger, The Voice warns him, before any of the others usually know about it. He's good at running from danger, better than most of the others. He knows he's different that way, too: a little faster, a little less clumsy, a little more...aware, and not just because of The Voice.
He knows there's something wrong with him. He's not like other zombies--he just doesn't know why.
Today, he's hungry--but he's not a fan of looking for food the way his neighbors do. He likes to hunt solo, because he has the most luck that way. He doesn't have to worry about feeling strange or the others slowing him down, and he doesn't have to share his kills.
There's something wrong with that, but he doesn't remember what.
Sometimes, it's lucky, though--because today, he's out hunting, and he sees something.
Mine.
The Voice makes him stop. The Voice tells him what to do.
And it said the girl was his...to eat? To kill? To...be pretty? Because she is kind of pretty...

light 'em up (i'm on fire)
Oct. 22nd, 2016 10:18 pmAn associate of the pack had asked for their help. He knew Leah Clearwater well, and begged Rocky to intervene in a matter up in Washington that was going critical.
He spoke to his Uncle Ash about it, confirmed that he knew of the parties involved...and told Rocky just how bad it was.
Leaving the rest of the pack back home, he brought the newbies with him: the beta with an alpha's power, his cousin, and their witch friend that they called an emissary for some reason...
They got to Forks just in time.
The first thing Rocky heard as he entered the clearing they'd been tracking wolf scents to was something about someone being dead. Something in the air touched his nose, the sound of a heartbeat racing...rage, fury, pain...
Someone was about to die.
"Der? Take Allison and get around behind those wolves." Rocky ordered quietly. "Murry? You're with me."
Murdoch Hale gave Rocky a dubious look, but glanced over at Derek with a nod. "See me? See how I'm following your alpha without complaining?"
Derek just rolled his eyes with a smirk, beckoning Allison to follow him.
In the meantime, Rocky stepped out into the open, calling out to the tall, distraught werewolf about to head into the house to kill...someone.
"Yo! Hold up a second!"

the new home tour...plus one!
Sep. 27th, 2016 02:49 pm"Okay, and blah blah blah, 'grandma of death,' blah blah blah..."
Rocky stepped back from the back door, trying to get the shots he wanted for his new home tour video. Yes, he and Ellie had been in the house for about nine months now, but he hadn't done a home tour since the start of his channel, and fans had been asking.
Only then did he realize he had a great segue into showing the space he kept his altar in. Snapping his fingers, he finished his shot and dashed back to his office to reshoot the setup so he could end on his altar, which was set up on a small bookshelf just beyond his desk...
...and, as was a common occurrence, even back at the apartment, Ellie was in the office, peering at his cameras and lights and computer with keen interest.
"Hey there, cublet." he grinned, shutting off his camera for the moment and dashing over to take a knee and wrap her in a hug from behind. Even though she was far more comfortable with affection these days, he still telegraphed his actions any time he came at her from behind. "How's the cutest member of the pack, hmm? Something you need, or you just curious about the cameras again? And no, you cannot take Daddy's cameras apart. That's why I bought you your own."

It was a shitty circumstance, but spending time in Seattle with Charlie was just...the most fun Rocky had had in a long time. Whether he was eating pasta and breathing fire after, or just playing video games with her in his hotel room or at her place with Nolan in on the action, Rocky was swiftly growing fond of the pretty chef who had been, at the start, a good draw for his channel and a talented creator in her own right.
Now Rocky was starting to think of her as a friend.
So much so that, when they were heading to the grill and she stopped dead in her tracks, the wolf rose up to answer the sudden bite of scorched things that filled her scent, wrapped in rage and remembered fear.
When he saw her eyes start to turn black, he turned to fix his gaze on the young man standing roughly two yards away, walking down the sidewalk...and staring at Charlie like she was some kind of monster.
Kill.
It wasn't hard to connect the dots, but the wolf didn't even need that much. Keeping his eye on one half of the pair of muggers that came after Charlie and Nolan, Rocky's eyes bled bright gold, his fingers popping and snapping as they lengthened, nails sprouting claws buried deep in the nail beds as his hands shifted into a horrific mix of wolf's paw, dusted in sleek fur, and articulated human fingers.
A lupine snarl rang out, followed by an animal roar as Rocky moved, so fast it made it hard for the human eye to track.
When he stopped, he stood behind the mugger, a clawed hand wrapped around his throat, pulling him back against Rocky's chest as he squeezed, causing the young human to choke and gasp as he clawed uselessly at Rocky's hand.
"Go." Rocky snarled, leveling feral gold eyes at Charlie. "I don't want you seeing this."
Kill.

Hey dude,
So Dad told me he phoned home to let everyone know what was going on with me, as much as he could at any rate. Daisy rigged me up a secure means of accessing my email and stuff so I could email you.
I need to ask you a favor: can you keep uploading from my backlog of videos for a couple more weeks? Or months? Or just upload anything I can email you? I'm a fucking prisoner of the US government until the thing that nearly killed us all is caught.
I'm so pissed off at Daisy I could die. Help.

i'm almost human...
Jul. 12th, 2016 10:44 pmRocky was in bad shape.
As he stood there, deep in the dead city where the Hive and Daisy (mine, mine, mine, mine) were working on some kind of science experiment and enslaving more Inhumans...and summoning aliens from space, Rocky was struggling to keep his beast in check while standing with the rest of Daisy's team, Daisy's pack in the middle of a war zone.
Not only was the Hive's sway interfering with the mating bond, but Rocky was just plain pissed off. So much so that he'd pulled rank, gotten to go along for the mission, and was keeping a close damn eye on the dude they said was Daisy's partner...the one holding the kill switches.
The tactical gear he'd been given to join them wasn't cool. The clothes, the radios, none of it mattered because she'd been taken from him.
...and, at any rate, he was pretty sure they wouldn't have let him go if he hadn't pulled rank...and by 'pulling rank,' that meant he threatened to kill the scary Cavalry lady. His head still hurt after getting thrown into that wall...
Hiding from the scary blue guys that were outside, Rocky stilled several seconds before the shockwave rang out, and the dull thud outside signaled that they were no longer at risk.
He couldn't feel her, but he could smell her, and every cell in his body was screaming for a taste. Wracked with the pain of loss that left him unable to fully assume human form again, feverish with the physical agony of having a limb ripped off, he actually sagged in front of Melinda May as the smell of Daisy Johnson swept through him like cool water.
"Devreaux? What's going on?"
Gold eyes lifted to meet Melinda's, and for the first time since she'd left the base, left her people hurting and a Hydra bigwig with a broken back, his eyes shifted back to deep brown once again.
"Daisy's out there."
"We have our orders. Maybe you're not--"
Rocky snarled at her, an audible lupine growl as he backed May against the solid steel they were shielded behind.
"I'm not putting up with this bullshit one more second." he growled. "I am Alpha. She's my mate. She submits to no one but me."
Turning on his heel, Rocky stalked away from the van and started tracking Daisy's scent.
She was standing in some kind of open shed lab when he approached. Standing in the doorway, wearing black from borrowed combat boots and fatigues to the black cap that hid his shock of blue hair, that was the first thing he removed.
"Get away from my mate." he instructed the gangly scientist quietly, balling the knit cap between his fists. "Or I'll paint these walls with your blood."

"Get away from my mate." he instructed the gangly scientist quietly, balling the knit cap between his fists. "Or I'll paint these walls with your blood."
"Her name is Daisy Johnson."
Rocky stood roughly three feet away from the reinforced steel chair sitting in the middle of the Angeles National Forest, a good forty miles from the campsite where Daisy had kissed him for the first time. It hadn't been an easy run, but Rocky made it.
Specifically for the man just coming to, who was chained to the chair, hands cuffed painfully tight behind him and secured to the bars running up and down the back of the seat.
"...who?"
"The SHIELD agent you tried to kill a few years ago. She used to call herself Skye...her name is Daisy Johnson."
With his arms folded comfortably, Rocky watched with perfect calm as the face he'd looked up on the Internet lifted to meet his gaze. Daisy had been right about one thing: he really was a pathetic, powerless man. He was hiding in plain sight, passing through a small desert town hoping to keep moving...except for the fact that he'd tried to grab a coffee at Still Waters.
"Who the hell are you? And what the hell does that have to do with--"
Rocky strode forward, and with one clawed hand covered Ian Quinn's mouth, making sure his claws sank into flesh. His hand muffled the scream, but the smell of blood was enough to elicit his transformation as eyes bled gold and fangs lengthened in his mouth.
"The only conversation I want to hear from you," he ordered softly, a lupine growl bleeding into his already deep voice, "is the sound of your heartbeat as I explain what's about to happen here. So...shhh."
Bringing a clawed finger to his lips, Rocky motioned for quiet before delicately releasing Quinn's face. The look of horror spoke volumes...and, for the moment, he was mute.
"Good boy. Now, I'll tell you everything you want to know and then some. Don't worry, there's no risk: you're never going to be able to share the information with anyone."
Quinn's heartbeat spiked as the sour smell of fear wafted off of him. It stung Rocky's nose, but didn't dissuade him as he slowly moved to walk a circle around Quinn.
"My name is Rock Devereaux. I'm a werewolf...newly named Alpha to the Pack of the Wayward Daughter. The woman you shot in the gut, point blank? She's my mate. And, among my people, attacking le reine, a pack queen, is a crime punishable by death."
Quinn made a sound, a pained noise that Rocky let him have as he laid a clawed hand on his shoulder while standing behind him.
"If you're wondering...no, Daisy isn't a werewolf. Pack queen or king is a title reserved for the human mate of an Alpha, one we actually haven't had cause to use in nearly two hundred years. It carries weight, though...and you killed her, for about a minute."
Circling back around, Rocky moved to crouch in front of Quinn. His face was human again, but the claws remained as he lightly rested them on Quinn's thighs--then dug his claws in, making him cry out.
"She has nightmares, you know." he went on evenly, watching Quinn closely as he whimpered and struggled uselessly against Rocky's grip and the handcuffs around his wrists. "She doesn't always remember them, but the ones she doesn't remember wake me up in the night. She smells like fear and death and waste, like her body's forgotten it still has a pulse and wants to let go that final release of fluid. It's in her sweat and in the sounds she makes...I can hear her bleed in every whimper, I can feel her die as I hold her and she twitches in my arms."
"Now, to be honest? She told me not to kill you. She said there was no point. You're broke, you're powerless...you're as good as dead, her words." He paused, shifting to start rising to his feet, leaning in so he could share Quinn's air.
"And that's the problem with Daisy." he whispered, leaning in to lick a drop of blood off Quinn's face. The wolf in him snarled with satisfaction, and it was all Rocky could do to resist the urge to sink his fangs into Quinn's soft throat.
"She's a hero. She thinks that it's over...she thinks you have nothing left to lose."
Drawing away to look into Quinn's face again, Rocky smiled. It was full of fangs and gold eyes, and Quinn's heart was a jackhammer in Rocky's ears. The air was heavy with the smell of pine and fresh earth mixing with fresh urine and shit as fear loosened Quinn's control over his own body.
"But you know that's not true. And so do I...so smile! Breathe a sigh of relief! I'm not gonna kill you. You can't suffer if you're dead. No, Ian Quinn...for what you did to the woman you know as Skye...you're going to live a long, long time."
Rocky laughed then--and as Quinn screamed, Rocky roared as his clawed hand balled into a fist and smashed hard against his temple, the crack of splintering bone and the meaty thud of flesh mangling under pressure deadened by heavy foliage and a thick carpet of pine needles.

"Daisy...it's a lovely name. And she's a lovely girl."
Rocky had to breathe carefully through his nose to keep his heart rate in check as he reached across the table to accept his phone back. "Thanks, Dad."
Richard Pang-Devereaux grinned at his son as they sat at the Italian restaurant just down the block from Still Waters, having lunch as they did every week to discuss pack affairs and catch up on family gossip. Try as he might, Rocky was clearly nervous, telling him about the girl he was dating, one of the Inhumans that the news continually touted as such a threat.
He was in love, he reeked of it, and behind his reserved, thoughtful mask, Richard felt a swell of fond empathy for his eldest child.
"I have to admit, the loyalty you inspire in your sister is a little frightening." Richard quipped, features deadpan. "She won't tell me a thing about her, and this is the first time I've been able to get you to say a word about your personal life in...how long has it been since Martha?"
"Her name was Mary--and I don't remember. A long time." Rocky admitted reluctantly, his gaze flicking down to the tablecloth, and his half finished cup of coffee. "But I had the pack, and that was enough."
Richard hesitated, peering at Rocky. "And now?..."
Rocky couldn't make himself look up for a long moment, watching instead as a waiter came up and topped off his coffee. Nodding his thanks, Rocky took a long swallow, letting the hot liquid soothe his shaky nerves as he braced for the lecture to come.
If he was going to tell his father about Daisy, about what she really was to him...now was the time.
Lifting his gaze, Rocky leveled it at his father...watching him reach for his own coffee cup, freshly topped off.
Tasting the bitter explosion of the poison across his tongue.
"Don't drink that, sir."
Richard stopped, the cup midway to his mouth as he raised an eyebrow. The title was reserved for pack business, which was done with.
"Rock?..."
"Put the cup down. We need to leave now."
"Not until you tell me--"
"The Alpha does not question the black wisdom of the Beta, he gives his left hand free reign to protect his right." Rocky hissed quietly, his eyes flashing gold for a brief instant. He prayed, willed, silently begged his father to understand, to obey.
Richard watched his son closely, brow creased with a frown...then, as Rocky watched, his father's nostrils flared, and his eyes went wide.
"By the Goddess..."
Rocky kept his breathing controlled as the waiter returned, placing their check on the table.
"Give our best to your alien whore."
Rocky stood abruptly, facing down the Watchdog in disguise with wild gold eyes and fangs visible when he sneered at the other man.
"You know what I am. Know this: I'm an alpha wolf who can handle a little wolfsbane, and a pack Beta whose job it is to do whatever I want with you in the name of protecting my people. That includes Inhumans, and the people they work for."
He leaned in, holding the other man's gaze.
"And I know what you look like." he whispered. "So run."
He stepped back in that moment, and gestured to his father. Richard got up from his seat, dropped a few bills on the table, and wordlessly followed Rocky out of the restaurant. As he did, he caught sight of at least three other men watching them far too cautiously, but he didn't react.
He followed his Beta until they were standing in front of Still Waters, and only then did he let himself be a father instead of an Alpha as he grabbed Rocky's arm in just enough time for Rocky to sag into him for support.
"You're an alpha." Richard breathed, reaching up to grab his chin and make Rocky meet his gaze. Already, Rocky was sickly pale and sweating, his eyes still wild gold as he lost control of his shift. "You didn't drink that much. You shouldn't be this sick yet."
Rocky shook his head, staggering back a little until the wall of Still Waters would support his weight.
"Those were terrorists, Dad." he choked out as a wave of nausea gripped him, followed by a stomach cramp so painful it bent him over double with a wild snarl.
"And I don't think that was ordinary wolfsbane."
* * * * * * * * * *
Rocky wasn't aware of losing consciousness. One second, he was talking to his father on the street, and the next he was staring at his bedroom ceiling...specifically, at a crack that came after one especially wild night with Daisy.
Mine.
Rocky shut his eyes and bit back a howl of agony as the wolf stretched inside his skin, threatening to rip him apart as it fought a losing battle against the poison in his veins. His heart was beating inside his own head, and he knew using his preternatural senses would only make it worse.
After all, he'd been poisoned by wolfsbane before.
"You're awake."
Rocky rolled his head to the side. His father stood on one side of the room, thumbing through his cell phone--Rocky's cell phone, he could make out the Captain America sticker on the back of his phone case.
"And you're--going through my phone." Rocky croaked. "I'm not sixteen anymore, Dad."
"Oh, you're not? You could have fooled me, you idiot boy."
Rocky just stared at his father as Richard finally found the number he wanted and dialed it, bringing Rocky's phone to his ear.
"Your sister told me everything."
Rocky shut his eyes, cursing quietly to himself as the silence drew out...and Richard spoke once someone picked up on the other end.
"I'm very sorry, Agent Johnson, but you don't know me. My name is Richard Devereaux...Rock is my son, and right now I'm going to have to ask you to return to Boulder City. He needs your help, and he may die without it."

[livestream]
Jun. 4th, 2016 07:20 pm[The livestream comes on with a shot of Rocky's living room couch, a familiar sight to his YouTube viewers. Just behind him, another figure can be seen on the computer, complete with a "20% off" Post-It on his chest, gravely poring over something.
On the couch, Rocky is happily perched, chowing down on leftovers of a casserole Rachel left in his fridge the last time she was in (which was the morning before, and the casserole had been his dinner last night. He finishes chewing a bite of food before addressing the camera, waving with the hand holding his fork.]
Hey, all! We're running, but we're not officially on yet, but the camera's running...just in time to let you all watch me make a pig of myself. Over my shoulder here, you'll find Quinn's little brother, Kieran, waiting for my super Irish best friend to get his ass over here and join me for a round of Dragon Age: Origins.
[Glancing up from the computer, Kieran O'Leary huffs peevishly as he looks at Rocky. When he speaks, it's with the same thick brogue as his brother.]
Damn right, I am. The little shite stole me bloody car. Again.
[Rocky turns to grin at Kieran, then back around. Leaning over, he sets his plate down and leans forward to address the webcam mounted on his coffee table, expression open and earnest.]
We've got about ten more minutes before I'll get this started, so a few quick reminders: this is not a charity stream, so it'll probably run for just a couple hours, 'cause...I got bored. [He shrugs with a careless, happy smile before sobering again.] Also, this is a locked stream, so no need to censor yourselves, or your questions: we're all freaks here. That said? Uh...how 'bout a few questions while we wait to make sure everyone's here?
[Rocky leans forward a little, and in the corner of the box in the upper left hand corner of the screen not taken up by a view of his happy little farm, he can be seen twisting a laptop screen into his line of sight.]
Let's see..."Do you speak Korean?"...[He turns to address the camera.] Actually, no, I don't, but that's 'cause Dad's side of the family is pretty sparse, and I really only have one relative that lives in Korea. I wanna learn, though! I like being in touch with my heritage, I like feeling connected to something. I do speak a little French, though--we use it a lot around my mom's extended family, they use it around their house all the time.
Okay, next..."Do you lock up for the full moon?" Not always, no. That's the beauty of living outside of Vegas, I don't always have to use chains or sleep in a cell like some. We have hunting grounds out here, and the ability to block our access to populated areas, so, uh--I run a lot during the full moon! My control's pretty good, so my family will head out, shift, and run as much as we want. When we can't get out, though? Yeah, we lock up. My aunt and uncle have a reinforced basement, and so does my cousin who lives out with her mate in...out near Stateline, I think? Might be closer, it's out in the desert. My cousin with the human mate--he's a wizard--he comes over and sits with her, then feeds some of us in the morning, so it's all very cool...
[He trails off, peering at the computer screen again.]
Uhhhhhh...yes! Kieran's fey-touched, too. Fire sprite, also called fire dwarves--so, of course, he's a professional jeweler. When I upload this to my channel after it's all done, I'll put a link to his website in the description below so y'all can buy one of his new moon talismans. They do wonders for helping with control, he knows what he's doing.
[From his place at the desk, Kieran can't help but smile a little, crooked lower lip more apparent as he gives Rocky a little nod.]
Much appreciated, boyo.
Sure thing, Kier!--ooh, got a question for you here: "Do you have a girlfriend?"
The answer'd be no, and I'm not lookin'. Wouldn't work, anyway: I'm Unseelie.
Okay, question from me. Isn't that hard with your brother being pledged to the Mortal court?
Not since the King of Iron allied with the Lady of the Lake. 'Tisn't Mab's court anymore.
...noted! [Returning his attention to the laptop, he squints at the livestream questions.]
Okay, one more before we start..."Where's your 'Capture the Flag' footage?" There's not actually going to be any. I'm sorry, but I couldn't put together enough footage for a decent vlog of that Warcraft event. My favorite hot girl was there, and as I've said: I can't put her on camera 'cause of her job, so...I'll go through it again. Promise...maybe I can salvage something later, when I'm not so wrung out.
[He pauses, then grins as he shifts to pull his phone out of his pocket, then brings up a picture before reaching behind him to show it to Kieran.]
Look at the shot Quinn got of me and my favorite hot girl. Nice, right?
[Kieran pulls himself away from the computer again, peering at Rocky's phone.]
Well, cheers! Yer girlfriend's a beauty!
[Rocky's expression softens with open affection as he shifts to put his phone back in his pocket.]
Not girlfriend--I mean, we haven't talked about it? We haven't said we're exclusive or anything. I don't wanna make assumptions, so until I...y'know, ask her, she's my favorite hot girl.
[He smiles, and for a second his face shines with the truth he can't hide: he's completely gone on the girl in question. After a beat, he shakes his head and waves it off.]
Anyway--let's get started! Looks like we're all here! So...llllllllllet's Bane, boys and girls! I'm Bane, you're wonderful, and we're all gonna get into some serious trouble with Dragon Age: Origins! Just give me a second while I get into character creation mode--I got big plans for my dwarf this time around, in honor of Kieran--
[He trails off, then squints into the livestream feed and blinks. He reaches out to use the track pad to click on a link...then his jaw drops open and he laughs out loud.]
Ohhhhh, my God. Wait'll I tell my favorite hot girl that there's fanart of her...
Yeah, we lock up. i blame you.
